Hepatitis B Virus (HBV) Infection in Patients at Pasteur Institute of Dakar in Senegal from 2016 to 2020: Prevalence and Seroprotection Level

Hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection is highly endemic in Senegal. Vaccination of all children against HBV was introduced 1999 and included Expanded Programme on Immunisation 2005. The aim this study to assess the prevalence immune status patients received at Pasteur Institut Dakar, Methods: Between January 2016 December 2020, aged between 1 96 years laboratory were study. Serum samples analysed for serology (HBs antigen: HBsAg, HBs antibody: HBsAb HBc HBcAb) using ARCHITECT? analyser. Patients with anti-HBs antibody levels (HBsAb ≥ 10 IU/l) considered seroprotected HBV. Results: A total 5629 a mean age 39 extremes from years. most represented group 31 - 45 38.4%.
